I’m Jools Scott. I’ve been performing at weddings and events for over 35 years — as a pianist, a composer, and a musical director. Where other musicians rely on sheet music, I arrange every song from scratch. Every performance is personal, every song list is built to order, and every event I play is treated like the most important of the year — because to you, it is.

The Wedding Ceremony
This is where hiring a pianist makes the biggest difference. Soft piano as guests arrive sets the atmosphere. Your processional song fills the room as the bride walks in — played live, with all the emotion that moment deserves. During the signing of the register, I play two or three pieces to keep the warmth flowing. Then a joyful recessional as you walk back down the aisle together, married.
Classical pieces like Pachelbel’s Canon or Debussy’s Clair de Lune are popular ceremony choices — but I can arrange any song you love. Your special song, played live on piano, is something your guests will talk about for the rest of their lives. Most pianists can’t do this — I compose and arrange every piece myself.
Drinks Reception
The ceremony is done. Champagne is poured. This is where the party starts — and a wedding piano player sets the perfect tone. Jazz standards, Rat Pack classics, upbeat pop — the kind of live music that makes your drinks reception feel effortlessly sophisticated. This is one of the services couples hire me for most.

Grand Piano or Digital Piano?
If your venue has a grand piano — wonderful. Many of the best wedding venues have one, and there’s nothing like the resonance of an acoustic instrument in a beautiful room. Hotels, stately homes, churches — I know which venues have pianos and which don’t.
If there’s no piano at the venue, I bring a professional stage piano and discreet amplification. It sounds superb and works anywhere — marquees, barns, gardens, rooftops. Equipment hire is included in all my services at no extra cost. No piano at the venue is never a problem.
